Wildstein To Be Sentenced for Bridgegate Scandal

Former Port Authority official David Wildstein will be sentenced on Wednesday for his role in the Bridgegate scandal.

He faced a possible prison sentence of more than two years, but prosecutors have recommended probation.  Wildstein cooperated with the government and offered testimony that led to the convictions of former Port Authority executive Bill Baroni and Bridge Anne Kelly, who is a former aide to Governor Chris Christie.

Baroni was sentenced to two years behind bars, while Kelly received a sentence of 18 months.  Both have promised an appeal.

Wildstein was appointed to the Port Authority by Governor Christie.  Wildstein admitted that it was his idea to close lanes at the George Washington Bridge, leading to traffic problems in Fort Lee.
