The Mets were able to win the rubber game of the series 6-3 over the Marlins Thursday night in Miami.
Once again, the Mets were able to take a first inning lead as both Jay Bruce and T.J. Rivera were able to drive in runs to put New York up 2-0. In the third inning the same tandem of Bruce and Rivera would bring in another two runs. Jose Reyes added a sacrifice fly to put the Mets up 5-0 early.
Seth Lugo was solid and earned the win for New York. He allowed just two earned runs in six innings of work to improve to 3-1 on the year. His main blemish was a solo home run from Giancarlo Stanton in the fourth.
The Mets will be back at Citi Field tomorrow night at 7:10 to begin a brief three game series with the Phillies. The 'WOR Sports Zone' will kick off coverage on WOR at 6:05 pm.
