Minor Subway Derailment in Harlem

Emergency personnel responded to a minor derailment in Harlem on Tuesday morning involving a southbound A subway train.

It happened in the area of 125th Street just before 10 a.m.  The partial derailment caused a smoke condition, with three people treated for smoke inhalation.  The injuries are considered minor.

The MTA said all customers have been evacuated from the train.

The incident caused problems on the A, B, C and D subway lines.

Service on the A line was suspended from Jay Street-Metro Tech to Inwood-207th Street in both directions.  Service on the B line was suspended in both directions between Brighton Beach and 145th Street.  On the C line, there was no service between Euclid Avenue and 168th Street.  Also, there was no D service between Bryant Park and Yankee Stadium.
