Speed Racers Catch A Break

Lead-footed NYC drivers caught a break this week when the state Senate adjourned without passing a bill that would have doubled the number of speed cameras in the city.

The Mayor's office and the state Assembly had voted to increase the camera count from 140 to 290 with most of the new cameras ear-marked to be placed near schools.

Speed cameras have been credited with catching a million law breakers per year.
