Puig's 3-Run Blast Powers Dodgers Past Mets

The Mets suffered another loss at the hands of the merciless Dodgers tonight as they fell 8-2. They've now lost three in a row and six of their last seven. The Dodgers have outscored the Mets 30-7 in first three games of the series.

Yasiel Puig provided the big blow tonight as the Mets were only trailing 2-1 when Puig blasted a long 3-run home run to put LA up 5-1. Yasmani Grandal would add a pair of homers to give LA the 8-2 edge.

Tyler Pill lasted six innings allowing five runs on five hits. He struck out six and walked three, but the Mets offense could not bail him out tonight. Curtis Granderson led off the game with a home run, but the Mets didn't score again til the top of the ninth when Granderson roped an RBI double.

Steven Matz will go for the Mets on Thursday as they look to salvage the final game of the series.
