Tornadoes Possible Monday Afternoon in NYC-Area

Tornadoes could make their way close to New York City during severe weather today.

Most of the Northeast is under a severe weather warning Monday, according to ABC 7 New York.

Thunderstorms are expected to arrive in the region at about 5 p.m. The most severe storms should arrive in the city a little after 7 p.m.

The greatest severe storm threat is over northeastern New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley, where there is a possibility tornadoes could form.

Severe winds, hail and significant rainfall is expected, with flash flooding possible in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
