2 Arrested at Shakespeare Play

Two people were arrested after a protest in Central Park during a performance of “Julius Caesar.”

The Shakespeare play has been controversial because a character that looks like President Donald Trump is killed during the show.  During Sunday night’s performance, a protest erupted, leading to Salvatore Cipolla and Jovanni Vale being arrested.  Both were charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

That followed a protest on Friday night that resulted in a woman being arrested.

Bank of America and Delta both pulled their sponsorship of the show because of the controversy.

Sunday night was the final performance.
