LISTEN: Jacob deGrom Leads the Mets Past Nationals 5-1

The Mets were able to salvage the final game of their four-game set with Nationals 5-1 thanks to another terrific outing for Jacob deGrom.

deGrom went eight innings allowing 1 unearned run on three hits while striking out six. He also helped his own cause hitting his first career home run to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the third. The Mets would then score four more times on RBI singles from Michael Conforto, Travis d'Arnaud, and Curtis Granderson to get the 5-1 win.

The Mets finish their home-stand vs the Cubs and Nationals 3-4 as they now begin a 10-game road trip beginning Monday evening in LA. The 'WOR Sports Zone' will kick off coverage on WOR at 6:05 pm.
