Mets Lose Second Game of Important Series with Nationals 7-2

The Mets were bested by the Nationals once again tonight at Citi Field 7-2 in game two of a four game set.

Steven Matz started the game for the Mets with two perfect innings, but would start to falter in the third. Matz let up back to back homers to Matt Wieters and Michael Taylor respectively. Things would settle down a bit until the 6th inning where Anthony Rendon hit a two run shot to make it a four run lead for the Nationals. Washington added three more runs in the 9th inning off of Fernando Salas and Neil Ramirez.

The Mets only runs of the night came from the long ball, as Jose Reyes and Jay Bruce both left the yard late in the contest. Game three of the series is tomorrow at 4:10 pm; Pete McCarthy will have Mets On Deck at 3:05 pm to begin coverage on WOR.
