Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal along with the anti-Airbnb group ShareBetter, have created a hotline that allows tenants to file "actionable complaints" against illegal short-term rentals.
Ms. Rosenthal released a statement claiming "Airbnb is clearly unwilling to bring its operation into compliance with the law, so we have to do the job ourselves."
The hotline will be staffed with live operators from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Airbnb spokesman Peter Schottenfels said the company already has its own "neighbor's hotline."
