A man with heroic intentions swam out to a body he spotted floating in a Central Park pond near 5th Avenue and East 74th Street this weekend.
After the unidentified swimmer reached the victim, he flipped the body over to find a person that had been long dead.
The victim's body was pulled ashore by the time the NYPD and FDNY reached the pond.
The corpse found this weekend is the third pulled from Central Park waters in just over a month.
Police do not believe the 3 drownings are connected.
