Grand Larceny Charges Filed On D.A. Office Worker

The procurement director for the Staten Island District Attorney's office was arrested and charged with grand larceny today.

Bill Nelson allegedly stole over $50,000 in the past 10 years.

Nelson took funds that were earmarked for fighting problems in Staten Island that include; addressing the opioid epidemic, ending domestic violence, and getting illegal guns off the streets.

He allegedly spent the money on video games, camping gear, comic books, and jewelry.

The Staten Island District Attorney's office became aware of the crime after Michael McMahon's administration took over the office in January of 2016.
