Pirates Crush Mets 11-1

It was another rough Sunday afternoon at Citi Field for the New York Mets as they were handed an 11-1 drubbing by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Tyler Pill made just his second career start and it won't be one he'll want to remember. Pill was torched for five runs. three earned, on eight hits over just five innings. The bullpen wasn't much better as Paul Sewald was the only Mets pitcher who was not charged with a run. Josh Edgin allowed one, Neil Ramirez two, and Josh Smoker surrendered three on a long 3-run homer by Andrew McCutchen.

The Mets have Monday off before heading to Arlington for a two game series with the Rangers on Tuesday night. An extended 'Mets on Deck' with Pete McCarthy begins coverage on WOR Tuesday.
