Cuomo and De Blasio Show Support For Climate Deal

One World Trade Center, City Hall and the Kosciuszko Bridge were lit up in green on Thursday night in support of the Paris Climate Agreement.  It came at the direction of Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo.

"President Trump can turn his back on the world, but the world cannot ignore the very real threat of climate change. This decision is an immoral assault on the public health, safety and security of everyone on this planet,” Mayor de Blasio said in a statement.

On Thursday, President Trump announced that he was withdrawing the United States from the agreement.  He said it was unfair to the U.S. and that he was willing to renegotiate better terms to re-enter.

"The White House's reckless decision to withdraw from the Paris Accord has devastating repercussions not only for the United States, but for our planet. This administration is abdicating its leadership and taking a backseat to other countries in the global fight against climate change," Governor Cuomo said.
