Have you ever wondered how to clean a whale? The folks at the American Museum of Natural History have to tackle the task every year.
The American Museum of Natural History in NYC has displayed the 94 foot long, 21,000-pound, model of a Blue Whale since 1969.
Once a year a specially trained cleaning crew comes into the Museum and removes the dust and cobwebs that have collected on the huge structure.
The crew uses brooms, vacuums, and a truck fitted with a lift basket to clean every inch of the world's largest mammal.
The Blue Whale model is made of fiberglass and polyurethane, took two years to build, and cost $200,000 dollars.
