Jacob deGrom Struggles as Brewers Crush Mets 7-1

It was over early tonight for the Mets as they fell to the Brewers 7-1 in the third game of a four game series at Citi Field.

Jacob deGrom was not sharp needing 105 pitches just to get through four innings. He was struck to the tune of seven runs on eight hits while striking out six. He allowed a 2-run first inning home run to Eric Thames, a solo homer in the third to Keon Broxton, and then four runs in the top of the fourth which essentially put the game out of reach for the Mets. The Mets offense scattered seven hits but were unable to get a runner home until the bottom of the ninth when Michael Conforto drove in Juan Lagres with an RBI double.

Zack Wheeler will look to clinch the series for New York on Thursday at 1:10 pm; Coverage on WOR at 12:10 pm with Pete McCarthy and 'Mets on Deck'.
