Coast-to-Coast Bandit Caught

A bank robber known as the “Coast-to-Coast Bandit” has been arrested after allegedly striking a series of banks in New York and Los Angeles.

Jon Waulters, 50, was arrested on Wednesday after a brief pursuit in Midtown.  He allegedly tried to rob an HSBC bank when officers saw him running from the scene.  Waulters is also accused of trying to rob a Capital One bank on Second Avenue earlier in the day.

Police said that Waulters has robbed, or attempted to rob, seven banks in recent months.  No one was injured in any of the incidents.

Waulters has been charged with seven counts of robbery.
