Rescue teams are searching the water off the coast of the Bahamas, after a plane carrying a New York City businesswoman and her kids disappeared.
A debris field was discovered on Tuesday in the area, but officials haven’t confirmed whether it’s related to the missing plane.
The twin-engine plane was carrying 40-year-old Jennifer Blumin, her 3 and 4-year-old sons, and 52-year-old pilot Nathan Ulrich. The plane was traveling from Puerto Rico to Florida.
“We're doing everything we can to find this aircraft and the missing individuals,” Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander Ryan Kelley said.
Blumin is the CEO of Skylight Group. The company has issued a statement confirming that she was on the plane and asking for the family’s privacy.
