Diamondbacks Hand Mets 6th Straight Loss with 5-4 Win

The Mets dropped their sixth consecutive game, as they fell 5-4 to the Diamondbacks tonight in Arizona.

Tommy Milone made his second start as a New York Met and it was not a great one. He allowed five runs on six hits over just five and two thirds innings. Yasmani Tomas homered for the second straight night and Gregor Blanco drove in two runs for Arizona.

For the Mets it was the Rene Rivera show again. Curtis Granderson walked in a run with the bases loaded and homered in the fifth for the first two Mets runs, but it was a seventh inning 2-run homer for Rivera that cut the Diamondbacks lead to 5-4, but they could not tie it late off D-backs closer Fernando Rodney.

Matt Harvey will try to get the Mets a win they desperately need as they hope to avoid returning from their six game road trip with out a win. 'Mets on Deck' kicks off coverage on WOR at 2:30 pm.
