The Mets disastrous road trip has mercifully come to and end, but not before one last brutal blow. The Diamondbacks walked off the Mets 5-4 in 11 innings thanks to a walk-off solo home run from Chris Herrmann.
The loss was the seventh in a row and capped a horrific 0-6 road trip. The Mets got off to a good start this afternoon when Michael Conforto hit his tenth home run of the season to give the Mets a 2-0 first inning lead. It would be short lived as Matt Harvey's struggled continued. Harvey went five and a third allowing three runs on six hits, but he walked four on ninety-five pitches.
Robert Gsellman came on to pitch the seventh and allowed the Diamondbacks to tie the game at four on a Yasmany Tomas RBI double. The game would remain locked at four until Herrmann won it for Arizona in the 11th.
