Pocketbook Saves Victim Shot At Point Blank Range

A Brooklyn woman was saved by her pocketbook when a carjacker fired his .40 caliber handgun at her in the commission of the crime.

As the 39-year-old victim struggled with carjacker Victor Walker he pulled out his gun and fired a shot towards her at point blank range.

The bullet passed through the woman's purse and wallet but slowed to the point that it didn't even break the victim's skin.

The carjacker, Victor Walter then pistol whipped the woman and sped off in her vehicle.

NYPD officers in the area spotted Walker in the stolen vehicle a few blocks from the crime scene and arrested him.

When Mr. Walker was pulled from the stolen vehicle the police found 2 ounces of heroin in the car.

Walker has 22 prior arrests on his record.
