Some quick thinking commuters waiting on the platform of the southbound "J" train rescued an 8-year-old boy who was walking along the tracks by himself earlier this afternoon.
Officials at Brooklyn Excelsior School in Bedford-Stuyvesant claim the boy went missing at 12:40 pm and is thought to have walked the underground tracks until he was noticed by the crowd at Halsey Street Station.
The 8-year-old boy was checked for injuries at Woodhull Hospital then released to his parents.
