Two female inmates at Rikers Island allege that officer Benny Santiago offered them cash and drugs in exchange for sexual favors between 2006 and 2012
The two inmates identified as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 gave in-depth depositions that described how officer Santiago blatantly proposed the idea of trading cash and drugs to fulfill his fantasies.
The women claim that when Santiago wanted sex he would tap them on the shoulder and order them into a vacant cell or the day room and tell them to “assume the position”.
Both women admitted that they gave consent for the sexual rendezvous but both State and Federal law prohibit sexual contact between jail staff and inmates despite consent.
Officer Santiago still works for the Department of Corrections while the investigation continues.
