The NYC Teachers Union will have their hands full trying to defend the latest case of a staff member becoming physically violent when disciplining a student who has misbehaved.
Principal Michael Spencer-Edwards was arrested after he allegedly knocked a 7-year-old boy to the floor. While the boy was down, Principle Edwards reportedly punched and kicked the child.
Police records indicate that Edwards became enraged when he saw the 7-year-old student strike a teacher.
The incident took place at P.S. 202 in East New York.
Edwards was charged with misdemeanor assault, harassment, menacing, and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
The judge released Principal Edwards without bail.
