Rats On 'The Pill'

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has announced their latest attempt in controlling the NYC rat infestation…ContraPest!

ContraPest is a compound that upon consumption sterilizes female rats by leaving them unable to ovulate.

Loretta Mayer, the CEO of SensTech, the company that makes ContaPest said: "When you are up against one of nature's most successful breeding machines, you can never get ahead by killing."

Ms. Mayer claims that one male and one female rat can generate up to 15,000 rats in a year.

ContraPest is said to be nontoxic to humans and other non-targeted species.

Mayor de Blasio's office increased NYC's anti-rat staff from 9 to 50 employees in 2015.

The rat birth control launch date has yet to be determined.
