A rare and expensive Persian cat was snatched from the Harlem animal shelter over the weekend.
‘Snow' the year and a half old female kitten was stuffed into the purse of a woman who became upset when the shelter informed her that the kitten was already spoken for.
The cat was still in the shelter because of the NY State regulation that stipulates all adopted pets must be spayed or neutered before their legal owners take them home.
An official from the Animal Care Center believes that the cat was stolen before being neutered for breeding purposes.
Persian kittens can sell for up to $500
