The NY Harbor Patrol is being credited with saving a man's life last night. The accident occurred near the Statue of Liberty at approximately 9:00 pm.
A tugboat worker's arm was torn loose from his body when it became tangled in a rope.The man whose arm was severed just below the elbow was bleeding out when the NY Harbor Patrol raced to the scene and applied a lifesaving tourniquet.
The injured man is listed in stable condition at Lutheran hospital.As of last night, the man's arm still hadn't been found.
