Aminata Kromah was awarded a $13 million dollar settlement after falling down a ram shackled staircase owned by Langsam Property Service Corporation in 2013.
The fall left both of her legs and an ankle smashed to pieces.
Ms. Kromah's lawyer, Marc Freund told the Bronx court that the Langsam Corporation, in order to save money chose profits over safety.
The fall left Ms. Kromah unable to pursue her dream of becoming a hairdresser.
Kromah and her husband Sadiou Soumahoro; say they have gone through hell since the accident. The therapy is very expensive so they had to stop the sessions after their money ran out.
Ms. Kromah claimed she will never be able to work again and she remains in constant pain.
