Train Service Still Impacted by Derailment

The nightmare continues for commuters.

Reduced schedules will remain in effect for the foreseeable future after a NJ Transit train derailment on Monday at Penn Station.  NJ Transit, Amtrak and the Long Island Rail Road are all impacted.

On NJ Transit, the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines will operate on a holiday schedule.  Cross-honoring remains in effect.  Amtrak announced a modified schedule will remain in place through at least Thursday.  The LIRR has canceled or combined 13 morning rush hour trains.

Eight of 21 tracks were knocked out of service because of the derailment.
