School safety officers turned a 6-year-old boy over to his parents after he was found packing a toy gun in his classroom today.
Officials at PS 195 in Brooklyn questioned the boy until it was determined that the weapon was indeed a toy.
President of the school safety agents, Greg Floyd said the crime wave continues in NYC schools and the removal of metal detectors increases the chance of violence.
NYC schools have adopted a "warning card" system to reduce the amount of police involved school crimes.
Warning cards are given to students for crimes such as disorderly conduct and possession of small amounts of marijuana.
