In 2017 there is absolutely no reason for anyone to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while intoxicated.
There's Uber, Lyft, taxi cabs, buses, trains, and subways that will safely get you home without putting another person's life in danger.
Unfortunately, some people are stubborn block heads that know they are ok to drive so they end up getting behind the wheel with a load on.
That's what Irma Tiro must have thought before she crashed into two vehicles while driving on the wrong side of the Goethals Bridge Sunday night.
When police arrived on the scene Ms. Tiro was so drunk she couldn't stand up for a field sobriety test.
Luckily the people in the two cars she hit only suffered minor injuries and didn't require medical attention.
Ms. Tiro collapsed while talking with the police after the accident and was taken to Christ Hospital before being charged with DWI and reckless driving.
