Minor Amtrak Derailment at Penn Station

Three minor injuries have been reported after an accident at Penn Station on Friday morning.

An Amtrak train derailed as it was pulling into the station and collided with a NJ Transit train at a slow speed around 9 o’clock.  There were about 250 people onboard the Amtrak train.

NJ Transit has suspended service in and out of Penn Station as a result, with Midtown Direct service diverted to Hoboken.  NJ Transit is cross-honoring tickets.

The NJ Transit train was traveling on the Montclair-Boonton line.
