During a run of the mill traffic stop in the West Village, the NYPD caught a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang with a loaded handgun, two vials of cocaine, and $3,000 dollars in cash in his vehicle.
The driver of the car, Michael Avalone, also has three active warrants and is under investigation by the FBI.
Police stopped Mr. Avalone for reckless driving on West 14th Street and 6th Avenue at 3:00 am Thursday morning.
Mr. Avalone served two years in prison for drugs and weapons charges in 2007.
He now faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless driving.
