Family and friends turned out in the Bronx on Sunday night to remember Yadira Arroyo, an EMT who was killed last week.
Arroyo was run over by an ambulance when a 25-year-old suspect tried to steal the vehicle. A wake has been planned for Thursday and Friday, while a funeral is set for Saturday morning. Arroyo was a 14-year veteran who leaves behind five children. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which honors fallen first responders, is putting $100,000 in a trust fun for Arroyo's five children.
Jose Gonzalez has been charged in connection with Arroyo’s death. He’s facing charges of murder, manslaughter and robbery.
