Wrongly Convicted Man Will Collect $7 Million Bucks From City

Fernando Bermudez will be paid $7 million dollars from NYC for being wrongly convicted of 2nd-degree murder and spending 18-years behind bars.

The five witnesses who gave testimony against Mr. Bermudez in 1993 recanted their statements and said they were forced by cops to pin the crime on Bermudez.

The city offered Mr. Bermudez a $4.75 million dollar settlement in 2014 but the lengthy litigation was just finalized this week with the city agreeing to pay Mr. Bermudez $7 million dollars.

Mr. Bermudez's lawyer Michael Lamonsoff said his client will never recover the 18 years of liberty he lost.
