Nasirn Monzu is one tough cookie.
While the 28-year-old law clerk was riding home on the crowded 6 train she felt someone tug at her purse. The man standing next to her apologized and the train was crowded so she thought nothing of it.Then the man bumped into her again and she noticed that her purse was open and her wallet was missing.
When she looked up to confront the man he was leaving the train.The young woman followed the man down the platform and called 911.
When Ms. Monzu asked the thief to return her property an argument began. In a matter of a few minutes, the NYPD was on the scene.
When the police searched the suspect they didn't find anything on him, but when they checked the nearby trash can they found the victims credit card.
The NYPD ran a check on the alleged thief and he was identified as Mr. Alphonso Jones, a criminal with 6 prior arrests on his record.
The police charged Jones with grand larceny.
