As a woman got off an MTA bus at Springfield Boulevard in Queens a teenager snuck up and snatched her purse as she sat down on a nearby bench.
As the purse snatcher attempted to flee through Springfield Park two stray dogs attacked him and knocked him to the ground.
Luckily several cops from the Emergency Services Unit were patrolling the park at the time of the robbery/dog attack.
The police were able to tranquilize the stray dogs but not until the crook was badly mauled.
EMT’s rushed the suspect to the Long Island Jewish Medical Center for treatment.
Hospital records indicated that the teenager was mauled so badly he may have to undergo skin grafts.
