It’s troubling enough to get a call from your kids’ school.
But when the call from the kids’ school is a person trying to sell you insurance, that’s a double whammy.
Maria Salazar admitted that she used confidential student records to obtain the emergency contact phone numbers of parents at PS 127 to help her obtain new clients in her side job, insurance sales.
Ms. Salazar has worked at PS 127 since 1996 and earns just over 34 grand a year.
The Department of Education and The Conflict of Interest Board fined Salazar $600 dollars and gave her a letter of reprimand. Ms. Salazar will keep her job.
