NYPD Reports First Death on Second Avenue Subway

It's a given that thousands of New Yorker's have died while waiting for the Second avenue Subway to open/

But this might be the very first time a person has died on it.

The Second Avenue subway has be up and running for just over a month. The train that cost millions to build and decades to complete runs along Second Avenue with stops at 72nd, 86th and 96th streets.

 When commuters got on at 96th Street early this morning they noticed something other that that new subway car smell. 

A men was found slouched over, unconscious, and unresponsive in his seat.

The unidentified man was checked over by EMS workers and then taken to Metropolitan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police reports say the mans' body showed no signs of injury and it is likely that he died of natural causes.

The NYC Medical Examiners office will release the official cause of death in a few days.
