Man Charged After Attacking Muslim Employee at JFK Airport

A Massachusetts man is accused of attacking an airline employee at John F. Kennedy International Airport because the victim was Muslim.

The Queens District Attorney's Office said Robin Rhodes, of Worcester, just arrived at JFK from Aruba and was waiting for a connection to Massachusetts Wednesday night when he allegedly kicked and shouted obscenities at a female Delta employee who was wearing a hijab, sitting in an office, reports Fox News.

Authorities say Rhodes walked to the door of the office and shouted that President Donald Trump "will get rid of all of you" at the woman.

When he reportedly punched the door behind her and asked if she was praying, she asked Rhodes what she had done to him.

He replied, "You did nothing," then cursed at her and kicked her in the leg, said Queens DA Richard A. Brown.

Rhodes was charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment, menacing and harassment as hate crimes.

"The bigotry and hatred that the defendant is accused of manifesting and acting upon have no place in a civilized society," said Brown.
