With midterms right around the corner, both parties are putting their full focus into gaining every advantage they can get to have control of Congress after Election Day. That goal is proving to be difficult for both sides as sudden changes are being made to candidates for several reasons. Jon Decker, WOR White House correspondent, spoke with Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mendte in the Morning about the reasons for each side’s struggles.
“There have been scandals in every part of the country; California Swalwell, Max Miller Ohio, North Carolina, Texas, and all of them have led to members of Congress deciding not to run for another term,” Decker told hosts Sliwa and Mendte. “All with the exception of Max Miller; he will be on the ballot--that could be problematic…he comes from one of those swing districts in Ohio.”
Decker believes the decision by Miller could be costly for Republicans: “Every seat matters Larry and Curtis because of the very tight margin that the Republicans have right now in the House of Representatives.”
