Jeff Morton, President of Shake A Paw New Jersey, brings more than 30 years of professional experience in dog breeding, training, animal rescue and and animal welfare to WOR’s DogSmart Radio — where listeners learn how to become smarter, more responsible dog owners.
Jeff Morton is the Owner and President of Shake A Paw New Jersey and the Shake A Paw Center for Rescue and Adoption, a licensed 501(c)(3) animal shelter, as well as the President of the New Jersey Coalition of Responsible Pet Stores. With more than 30 years of hands-on experience in dog breeding, training, animal rescue, and the competitive show-dog world, Jeff is widely recognized as a leading voice for responsible pet ownership and animal welfare standards across the United States.
A lifelong dog enthusiast, Jeff has bred, trained, and showed numerous AKC champion dogs — including the #1 Obedience-Titled Saint Bernard in the nation — and has competed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He is a long-standing member of the Pet Advocacy Network in Washington, D.C. and serves on multiple national and state legislative advisory boards, where he helps shape pet industry policy and consumer protection guidelines.
A certified Animal Control Officer and Animal Cruelty Investigator (retired), Jeff brings a unique combination of practical expertise, ethical leadership, and industry advocacy to every discussion.
