Andrew Cuomo lost convincingly in the Democratic primary for NYC Mayor and up to this point has not done much to close the ever-growing gap between himself and Zohran Mamdani in the general election. The former NY Governor has finally begun to fight back though with his claims that the big donors backing Mamdani are extremists and even that they celebrated the October 7th attacks in Israel. Joe Borelli, former NYC Council minority leader, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the race and Cuomo’s strategy.
“Some part of this is Andrew Cuomo sort of trying to throw as much you know what against a wall and seeing what sticks,” Borelli told host Larry Mendte. “I think this one does have a little bit of legs.”
Borelli thinks that this may be the issue that trips up Zohran: “He gives good answers, he’s very articulate, and he knows how to deflect questions but, on this issue, he seems to be a little bit hesitant to address it.”
