Spring cleaning isn’t just a good time to clean your home, but it is also a great time to clean up other areas of your daily life like your computers. Many people use their computer every day and over time the performance of the computer gets worse and becomes slower but periodical cleaning can help. Rich DeMuro, host of ‘Rich on Tech’ on WOR Sunday nights from 8-11pm, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the best ways to keep your computer running its best.

“Look at your storage settings on the Mac or PC,” Rich told host Larry Mendte. “Get out those temporary files, the downloads, any apps that you no longer need or use, uninstall those. Go through the extensions, it looks like a little puzzle piece…and get rid of any extensions that you don’t use or don’t need.”

Rich also warned about a safety measure that can come in handy before starting your cleaning: “Backup your computer. I get so many emails from folks who lose everything. It’s sad and you can’t get it back half the time.”
