It has now been one month since Donald Trump upset Kamala Harris at the ballot box, yet many observers still feel the result was more than just Republican over Democrat. To them, the election results are America’s repudiation of woke values and identity politics. In a similar vein, several major American companies have quietly announced they are backing away from the DEI policies they warmly embraced just a few short years ago. A.J. Rice is the editor-in-chief of the Publius National Post and author of a new book called “The White Privilege Album: Bringing Racial Harmony to Very Fine People on Both Sides”. He appeared on the WOR Morning Show to explain the book’s treatise that wokeism’s day in the sun may finally be winding down.
“It’s a defense of Western civilization to put a little smile on your face,” Rice told host Larry Mendte. “It’s a defense of the middle class, a defense of the nuclear family, because when you hear the left talking about white privilege, that’s really what they’re talking about. They can try to hide behind social science, they can try to hide behind the guilt of Western civilization or the original sin of America, but they want to reset us. And, lo and behold, with this last election...it’s interesting, both wokeism and globalism got a great reset- but it wasn’t the reset they were looking for; Trump just reset them both!”
Rice pointed to last month’s election results as proof that Trump is the great uniter in American politics. “If you look at what Trump just did, making the Republican party more working class, more multi-ethnic- I mean, he’s got Muslims in Michigan voting the same way as Jewish voters in Pennsylvania and New York. So, if anybody’s bringing racial harmony, it’s not these race hustlers that are mostly white, by the way- liberal, white, coastal elites looking down their nose at working class people. Remember when George W. Bush used to say, ‘Family values don’t stop at the Rio Grande.’? Well, it turns out, MAGA values don’t stop at the Rio Grande, either.”
