Could We See A Republican Governor In New York?

It has been over 20 years since New York has elected a Republican Governor, but in the 2022 Gubernatorial elections Democrats saw their smallest margin of victory in that same time span. With Donald Trump winning the Presidential election and gaining 11 points over his result from the 2020 election, now might be the time for Republicans to win back the state. WOR and NewsMax host and former New York Governor candidate, Rob Astorino spoke with the WOR Morning Show about the process of winning New York and the tough road ahead.

“It is a herculean process just to get the nomination,” Astorino tells host Larry Mendte. “A lot of the forces are going to be against any Republican that runs.”

Despite the uphill battle, Astorino believes Kathy Hochul is beatable in an election: “She is weak, she should not be governor, and I do think there will be lasting issues that anybody can run against her on.”
