It appears that congestion pricing in New York City will be put on the fast track, now that the election is over.
"I spoke to the White House about this I believe three days ago. They understand our need to take affirmative steps to ensure that nothing compromises the MTA," Governor Kathy Hochul said.
The plan to charge drivers $15 to travel south of 60th Street in Manhattan was supposed to begin back in June, but Hochul slammed the brakes on congestion pricing with many worried that it could hurt Democrats in the election. Now that the campaign season is over, it appears the race is on to restart congestion pricing before the new Trump Administration takes office.
"We will have our announcements and a plan and a funding plan," Hochul said.
