Kim Wins In NJ, Gillibrand and Murphy Re-Elected

It was a good night for Democrats in the three U.S. Senate races in the tri-state area.

Democratic Congressman Andy Kim won in New Jersey to fill the seat vacated by former Senator Bob Menendez, who resigned after being convicted of federal corruption charges. He defeated Republican Curtis Bashaw who conceded the race.

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand easily won re-election, as did Senator Chris Murphy in Connecticut. Democrats also performed well in the local House races, while Kamala Harris won New York's 28 electoral votes.
