Report: 75% Of Those Arrested In Midtown Are Migrants

A new report from the New York Post claims a large majority of those arrested in Midtown are migrants.

The newspaper quotes sources as saying they make up about 75 percent of the arrests, with crimes including assault, robbery and domestic violence. It says the problem is heightened by the sanctuary city laws and bail reform. The Sanctuary City law means that New York can't work with immigration officials, while bail reform has allowed criminals to be put back onto the street.

Mayor Adams has called for changes to both laws.

In addition to Midtown, officers in parts of Queens say 60 percent of their arrests are migrants.
