Joe Concha's New Book Explains Why The Far Left Wants To Go Even Further

As recently as 30 years ago, the Democrat party was a party led by a centrist in Bill Clinton that stood for union workers and middle-class Americans. That quaint notion now seems like it happened 300 years ago, however, as the party has shifted further and further to the left. Fox News contributor Joe Concha has authored “Progressively Worse: Why Today’s Democrats Ain’t Your Daddy’s Donkeys,” a book due out later this week that examines the reason for the seismic political slide. Concha appeared on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program to explain the breakdown of the Democrat party, starting with the leading reason why the party has gone so far left in recent years.

“I think the advent of social media really ushed Democrats to the left,” Concha told Riedel and Larry Mendte, sitting in for Berman. “Many Democrats saw somebody like AOC, who has never passed one piece of legislation… but then they see that she is, by far, the most popular person on TikTok and Twitter and Facebook, social media across the board, so then they were like, ‘Well if that’s popular, if that’s getting a lot of likes and re-tweets and that gets you in MSNBC, then maybe that policy is s a good idea,’ like the Green New Deal, for example. So yeah, I think the advent of cable news started it. I think social media and the media in general pushed Democrats way to the left.”

But while Concha pointed to the current Democratic front-runner, Kamala Harris, as another example of far-reaching far-left policies run amok, he says there is a glimmer of hope for sanity. “She has taken some positions that are indefensible, especially in swing states like, let’s say, Michigan, for example. Oh, you want to mandate the sale of electric vehicles? I’m pretty sure that’s going to result in thousands of auto workers losing their jobs. Go explain that sometime. Again, her record’s her record; they can whitewash it as much as they want, I guess. But the good news is that social media also serves as a great fact-checker, and shows like this or Fox News, that make sure this stuff gets out here and people know exactly who they’re voting for, and that’s why I think she will perform worse than Joe Biden- even the depleted, feeble Joe Biden- would on November 5th.”
